Re: Un Chien Andalou (1929)
Sat, December 17, 2005 - 10:48 PMWhy does this remind me of the Pixies Debaser?
There can be a connection with art & music. Is not music just poetry in motion? The surrealists connected poetry and the manifestos of Breton into everything from Art to film, as is noted in the Brunel/Dali collaboration the Pixies reminded us of.
This type of synergy, or symbiosis can also be incorporated into music today. The only problem is music today lacks substance. Producers should incorporate artistic elements into music. Anyone can note the Surreal elements of Aphex Twin.
I would like to see a global resurgence of surrealism, mixed with the technological advances of our society. Through open discussion, and networking I hope to establish a network of those in tune with the surreal deal. For instance, BT utilizes nano-correction on notes in his music composition. There are sound frequencies that heighten subconscious elements in our brain. Ideas as such can help inspire, create, and free us from the spoon-fed corporate feces we ingest each day.
Creativity is only as far as insanity inspires.
